In Kampala, there is one toilet for every 3000 people, and even less bathrooms for the same number. Every eight in ten people lack access to proper and clean sanitation, a very worrying number in a highly populated city.

In a bid to bridge this gap, Joelex Uganda Limited was created to provide clean, accessible and affordable sanitation to densely populated places in Kampala, urban slums and markets.

We are a social enterprise that actively works to provide clean sanitation facilities in different communities, with emphasis on densely populated areas.

We want to ensure that water and clean toilets are accessible to our communities, and have so far put up fully functioning facilities in the areas of Kireka, Kyaliwajala and Kisaasi, with toilets and bathrooms in Kireka and Kyaliwajala and water kiosks in Kisaasi and Kyaliwajala

We also on board, renovate old, existing public toilets, manage and maintain them and then pay the owners a percentage of the revenue made from the revenue streams we put in place.
